Gracie Longhouse Wins EVERYTHING at Canfield!

The above headline is a lie of course. Grace won nothing at Canfield, nothing at any dog show and NOTHING anywhere at any time. On the one and only occasion that she attended a dog show (at one of the Ravenna National Specialties)... it was a COMPLETE DISASTER. Don't even ask for the details. They're too painful to remember. It was the year that Lilian, Audrey and June temporarily quit Italian Greyhounds and went into Chihuahuas. It was also the year that IGCA got tossed out of Ravenna never to return. It was also the year that Harry B., Wendy and Mary (all top notch handlers) decided that Italian Greyhounds were too hard to handle and all 3 of them considered moving on to something easy...like a Pitbull or Great Dane. It was also the year that the AKC decided to change the name of Italian Greyhounds to Peewee Piddlehunds. That name lost by one vote (Sandy Katz didn't like it.)

Anyway....this year as usual Gracie insisted upon a winning ribbon. Her Auntie June Mastrocola brought a huge green dog show ribbon to Canfield expressly for Gracie. Auntie June is a love. If you don't know her...you're missing out on meeting one of the very great ladies of Italian Greyhounds. Auntie June loves all Italian Greyhounds....even Gracie. Anyway...I'm digressing. <G>

Today Gracie insisted upon a photography session devoted to her MAGNIFICENT WIN AT CANFIELD. I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth...so the photos below are phonies...but she's thrilled with her ribbon. She was even more thrilled to find out that I'm inviting everyone to this pitiful site honoring Ch. Sheridanes Our Gracie...with her winning ribbon from the 2004 Italian Greyhound National Specialty. (In her case the Ch. stands for Chump).

If any of you feel like sending her a letter of CONGRATULATIONS please feel free. You might also consider sending a letter of condolence to me...God knows it isn't easy being You Know Who's mother. <VBG>

I hope you all have a good laugh. (Meanwhile I will swallow another humble pill while wallowing in humiliation.)
